Sussex Mountain Bike Guide

About

Hello. I’m Jim, I’m a qualified British Cycling Mountain Bike Leader – Level 2.

I’ve ridden mountain bikes since I was a kid, bashing around the woods and exploring around my area. Over the years, I’ve dabbled in racing (Downhill, XC and Cyclocross), but it never gave me enough return – what I realised over time is that I wanted to share the fun, the adventureĀ andĀ the positive health (physical and mental) benefits that mountain biking offers.

Over the last few years, I’ve written for several bike magazines (mbr, grit.cx, roadcyclinguk) both online and in print. Testing product and clothing has given me a greater understanding of how kit can help make a ride even more enjoyable. But nothing beats just being out on the trails, with other people, whatever the weather or ability.

I’m lucky to be based in the South East of England, near The South Downs National Park, and the High Weald. We have plenty of trails waiting to be shared – some not always where you may think.

As a Leader, I want to set my rides according to my groups needs and abilities. On my Trips & Prices page you can see some of the varying options, costs and locations of the type of rides I offer. These are all the core options, and can be expanded or contracted as required.
